The lightness of gestures and the poetry of the typical colours used by Saba have several aspects in common with the art by Antonio Marras who, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile, reinterprets the iconic New York collection of sofas and small armchairs, drawing his inspiration from the unprecedented textile combinations of the Fall/Winter pre-collection 2018/19.

Antonio Marras and Amelia Pegorin, founder of Saba Italia, have met for the first time at the Design Week 2017 at Archiproducts Milano on the occasion of the performanceDuetti-Duelli (Duets-Duels). Partite a scacchi sul disegno(Chess plays on drawing) curated by Francesco Maggiore and Francesco Moschini has seen a four-hand design between Antonio Marras and Vincenzo D’Alba.

Saba will also design the temporary bistro Marras with 60 linen ecru-coloured New York chairs, hand-painted like on cavases. The performance and the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of the project will be documented with a video shot by the Sardinian director Giulia Achenza, winner of the first edition of the Fashion Film Festival Milano.
